FlamioSiteReader

The crawler Flamio uses to read a website its owner connected to Flamio.

1. What FlamioSiteReader is

FlamioSiteReader is the crawler of Flamio. It reads the public pages of a website whose owner connected the site to Flamio, so that AI assistants can find the site’s sections and forms and send people to the right page.

Every request it makes carries this User-Agent:

  • FlamioSiteReader/1.0 (+https://flamio.org/agents)

2. When it visits

Only after the site owner has verified the site in Flamio by adding a verification tag to the home page. Until then Flamio requests only the home page, when the owner checks the tag, and reads nothing else.

After verification it visits:

  • right after the owner verifies the site;
  • when the owner asks Flamio to read the site again;
  • when the owner makes the site available to AI agents;
  • once a day while the site stays available to AI agents.

3. What it reads and what it never does

  • Public pages on the verified site’s own host, found through its sitemap and the links between its pages.
  • Plain GET requests for the page HTML. It does not run the page’s JavaScript.
  • It never submits a form, never signs in and never clicks anything.
  • From robots.txt it takes the Sitemap lines. Which pages are read is set by the site owner in Flamio.

4. How to stop it

If you own the site and use Flamio, unpublish the site in Flamio: the daily visits stop and AI agents no longer get your site from Flamio. Removing the verification tag from your home page also takes the site away from AI agents once the next daily checks fail.

If you run the site but did not connect it to Flamio, write to contact@flamio.org with the site’s address and we will stop reading it.
