Flami assistant

Ask Flami

Ask Flami about your product data, about the screen you are on, for a chart, or for the way to a setting.

Ask Flami in the words you would use with a colleague. It answers from your Flamio data, draws a chart when you ask for a number, and shows you where things are.

Before you begin

  • To send a question you need the Editor, Admin or Owner role. Viewers can read chats but not send messages.
  • Each answer spends tokens from your organization's balance. See What Flami costs.

Ask a question on the Assistant page

Open the Assistant

Click Assistant at the top of the sidebar (badge AI).

Ask

Type your question in the box ("Ask Flami anything about your product...") and press Enter, or click Send. On a new organization, Three ways to get your first insight suggests where to start; later, chips such as "What should I fix first?" give you a starting question.

Check what Flami read

Open Thought process · N steps above the answer to see which data Flami read.

Open the evidence

Click a card under the answer — a session recording, an issue, a report or a task — to open that record in Flamio.

To halt a long answer, click Stop or press Escape in the box. A stopped answer is not saved.

Ask about the screen you are on

Open the Flami panel

On any dashboard screen, click the Flami button in the corner (Open Flami), or press ⌘J on Mac or Ctrl+J on Windows and Linux.

Check the screen chip

Above the box, a chip reads Seeing and the screen Flami will look at. Click its ✕ (Don't send this screen) to ask without it; click the grayed-out chip to turn it back on. Your browser remembers the choice.

Ask about one part of the page

Optionally, select text on the page. An Ask Flami button appears over it and opens the panel with the quote attached. The ✕ on the quote drops it.

Ask

Ask the way you would say it out loud — what is this number, why is this page red.

Where you ask decides which chat the answer goes to. On the panel's first screen or on All chats, a question starts a new chat; inside a chat, it continues that chat. Before your organization has any chat, the first screen offers a few questions under Try asking — click one to start.

Flami reads what the screen shows, then checks every number against your data. The full Assistant page does not send a screen — there, the chat is the screen. To move a panel chat to the full page, click Open full view.

Have Flami build a chart

Charts count what the web SDK recorded, so Flamio On-Live must be on and recording sessions. To save charts, you need the Editor, Admin or Owner role.

Ask for a number

On a dashboard, click Add chart, describe it in Describe the chart you want — for example, visits by country over the last 30 days — and click Ask Flami. Or ask for a number on the Assistant page or in the Flami panel.

Read the chart

Flami draws the chart under its reply and spells out what it counts, the days it covers, the traffic and the filters. Ask about a saved funnel — where do people drop off in checkout? — and Flami draws its steps as bars, counted in people.

Save it to a dashboard

Click Add to dashboard and pick one of the project's dashboards. Open on dashboard takes you there. To make a new dashboard first, use All dashboards.

You can also ask in words: save it, make a dashboard of these, take that chart off, change it to bars, build a funnel of these pages. Flami does it and the dashboard on screen updates.

Asked from a dashboard, your question carries the dashboard's period and filters. After Edit with Flami on a chart, the chip above the box reads Editing and the chart's name; its ✕ lets go.

Have Flami show you where something is

Ask where it lives

Ask where something is — where you turn On-Live on, where reports are. The answer carries a card for the place.

Click Show me

Click Show me beside the card. Flami opens that screen, rings the thing to press and says one line about it.

Follow the walk

Click Next for the next stop, Got it on the last one, or Close to stop at any point.

Not every place has a walk. A card without Show me still opens the screen when you click it. Flami points, it never presses — the click stays yours.
