Find your way around Flamio

Switch projects and organizations, jump anywhere with search, read notifications, and let Flami walk you through setup.

The Flamio app has a sidebar on the left and a top bar with Feedback, Search, the notifications bell and your avatar. This page shows how to move around: switch the project you work in, find things fast, keep up with alerts and pick up the setup guide.

Before you begin

  • You are signed in and have finished the setup wizard. See Quickstart.

Switch the active project

Every Vision, On-Live and Scout page shows the data of the active project. Change it in one place.

Open the project menu

Click the button at the top of the left sidebar. The small line is your organization, the bold line the active project.

Pick a project

Under All projects, click the project you want. Each row shows its number of sessions and its last activity, or No sessions yet.

Every page switches to the new project right away. The same menu has Tokens, which shows your balance and opens Settings > Plans & billing, and Create project.

Switch to another organization

You see this only if you belong to more than one organization — for example, your own and one you were invited to.

Open the project menu

Click the button at the top of the sidebar.

Pick the organization

Under Organizations, click the one you want. Your role in each is shown on the right, and a check marks the current one.

Pick a project in it

Wait while All projects reads Loading projects…, then click a project. No projects yet means that organization has none.

All pages now show the new organization's data. If you see Could not switch organization, try again.

Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux, or click the Search box in the top bar. On a phone, tap the search icon.

Type what you are looking for

With the box empty, you get Actions: Create project, Create test task, Ask the assistant, Set up On-Live SDK, Billing & tokens and Open settings.

As you type, the results add Navigation (any page in the sidebar) and Projects — picking a project makes it the active one. From two characters on, search also covers Test tasks, Visits and Issues in the active project.

Open a result

Move with the Up and Down arrow keys and press Enter, or click the result. Press Escape to close search, or click Clear search to empty the box.

Test tasks, Visits and Issues appear only while a project is active.

Check your notifications

Open the bell

Click the bell in the top right corner. The red badge counts unread notifications, and shows 9+ above nine.

Filter and open

Switch between All and Unread at the top of the panel. Click a notification to mark it read and open what it is about — a finished run, a digest, a project or a billing warning.

Clear the badge

Click Mark all as read. Press Escape to close the panel. With nothing waiting, the panel reads You're all caught up.

The bell shows every alert raised for your organization. There are no per-person notification settings. The one delivery you can configure is the On-Live daily digest: in the sidebar, click Flamio On-Live > Digests > Configure.

Let Flami walk you through setup

On a brand-new workspace — one with no project yet — Flami greets you in the middle of the screen right after the setup wizard. The greeting appears only for roles that can create a project.

Start the walk

Click Start setup, or I'll look around to explore on your own. Flami moves to the corner of the screen, where it stays from then on, and points at what to do next. The bubble names the step and counts how many are left.

Do each step

The walk has up to four steps: Create a project, Connect Flamio On-Live, Meet Flamio Scout and Meet Flamio Vision.

  • The first two steps close when you do the thing: create the project, copy the On-Live snippet. Inside a step, Next moves Flami's ring to the next field or button of the same step.
  • The last two introduce a screen. Flami points at Flamio Scout and at Test Tasks in the sidebar, says what the screen is for once you are there, and closes the step on Got it.

Click Skip this step to pass a step, or Continue later to stop.

Pick up where you left off

Click the Flami button in the corner of any screen. The Set up Flamio row at the top of the panel shows how many steps are done and which one is next — click it (Continue setup) to resume.

When the last step closes, Flami offers two next steps: Connect your board and Add me to Slack. Each one points at its tile in Settings > Integrations. When every step is done, the Set up Flamio row leaves the panel, and the walk is not offered again.

Steps you have no permission for are left out. If none of your projects covers a website, the Scout and Vision steps are left out too.

Three screens have an Open page guide button next to their heading with a short video: the Dashboard, the Test Tasks list and the Test details step of a new test task.

Limitations

  • Flamio does not re-run the setup wizard — it runs once, and after that the wizard page sends you back into the app. Instead, edit your details in Settings > Profile, change the plan in Settings > Plans & billing, connect a skipped site in Flamio On-Live > Setup, and resume Flami's walk with Continue setup until every step is done — a finished walk does not start again.
  • Flamio does not have a page that lists all projects — instead, every project is in the sidebar menu under All projects, with its session count and last activity. Projects cannot be deleted or archived.
  • Flamio does not let you create a second organization — instead, create more projects in your organization, or ask someone to invite you to theirs.
  • Flamio does not have notification preferences — instead, filter the bell with All and Unread, and set up the On-Live daily digest in Flamio On-Live > Digests.
  • Flamio does not have a help center inside the app, and Flami's walk covers only the project, On-Live, Scout and Test Tasks — instead, use these docs, ask Flami on the Assistant page, or click Feedback in the top bar to reach the Flamio team.
