Build a funnel
Define a conversion path from your real pages and see, step by step, where visitors drop off and where they go instead.
A funnel is a path you care about, such as sign-up to checkout. Build it from the pages visitors actually open, and Flamio On-Live shows how many people reach each step and where the rest drop off.
Before you begin
- You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role to create, edit or delete a funnel. Any role can open saved funnels.
- On-Live is enabled and has recorded sessions. The New funnel button stays hidden until then.
Open Funnels
In the sidebar, under Flamio On-Live, click Funnel. The page is titled Funnels.
Start a new funnel
Click New funnel at the top right. With no funnels yet, click Create your first funnel under No funnels yet.
Name it and choose the window
Enter a Funnel name, for example Signup → Checkout. Under Conversion window, select one:
- Within one visit — the steps must happen in a single journey.
- Across visits — the steps may happen over several visits. Enter the number of days.
Add the steps
Under Steps, click Add step, search in Search pages by name or URL…, and pick a page. Repeat in the order visitors should follow.
Drag a row to reorder it. To start from what most visitors do, click Prefill from popular path.
Check the preview and save
Live preview on the right updates as you add steps. It needs at least two steps. Click Create funnel — or Save changes when you edit an existing one.
Result
The funnel opens with its results, counted in people:
- Entered funnel — people who reached the first step (People at step 1).
- End-to-end — the share of them who reached the final step.
- People in scope — everyone who matches the current filters, whether or not they entered.
A login joins one person's browsers, so someone on two devices counts once. The date, device and other filters at the top scope the results.
Click a step in Steps to see the people behind it. Dropped lists those who stopped there, with Where they went instead. Continued lists those who went on. Each row opens the visit's replay.
Add a funnel to a dashboard
Open the funnel and click Add to dashboard, then pick one of the project's dashboards. The funnel appears there as a chart, drawn for that dashboard's period and filters. You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role. See Build a dashboard.
Edit or delete a funnel
Open the funnel. Click Edit to change it, or the trash icon (Delete funnel) to remove it, then confirm with Delete. Click All funnels to go back to the list.
This cannot be undone
Goals and events
You cannot define your own conversion goals or send custom events — Flamio detects goals from your pages, and the SDK has no event call. To measure a path you define yourself, build a funnel. You can also ask Flami to create the funnel from the pages in order. See Flami.
